Typical Applications
-Marine Galvanic Isolation

The DEI Marine Galvanic Isolator provides unsurpassed DC isolation and AC safety grounding for boats of all sizes. DEI¡¯s design philosophy has produced a galvanic isolator that exceeds every rating of every other unit on the market, and most importantly, is uniquely certified as being fail-safe. This assures safety grounding of the boat to shore, even in the unlikely case of the product failing. DEI products are rated for the full available fault current of large electrical systems, well beyond what is required by ABYC A-28, the standard for marine galvanic isolators. Simpler and smaller than isolation transformers, the GI assures that the boat will always remain bonded to shore for safety.

Features and Characteristics
- AC fault ratings matched to the boat
- Fail-safe construction
- Ignition protected
- Maintenance-free solid-state design
- Rated for high levels of lightning current
- Isolation to 2V galvanic potential difference
- Very low DC leakage current allowed

Application Information
The Galvanic Isolator is simply installed in series in the grounding conductor of the shore power cord, typically near the main shore power panel on board the boat. See our application data and schematic for more information.
