VTNI (Variable Threshold Neutral Isolator)

DEI began in 1983 with a mission of designing and producing a product requested by several power utilities in Wisconsin.

Regarding the concern of a possible utility contribution to stray voltage on dairy farms, the solid-state Neutral Isolator was developed.

Isolating the utility's primary from the customer's secondary neutral, the Neutral Isolator acts as an open switch up to its threshold voltage, then instantly reconnects the two systems together to provide over-voltage protection.

The Neutral Isolator will automatically switch between the short circuit and blocking modes. The current model, Variable Threshold Neutral Isolator model number VTNI-170-45, provides additional isolation for higher magnitude, short duration transients.
